Pool leagues provide a great way to get together, share your knowledge, and engage in friendly competition. These leagues allow you to make new friends and create a sense of community. Some pool leagues even hold professional events. You could win a lot if you play well. You should be aware of these important points before joining a pool league.

First, make sure you choose the league that suits your skill level. There are many leagues to choose, so it is easy to find the right one for you. The Valley National 8-Ball League Association, (VNEA), is the largest amateur pool league worldwide and has played in more than 400 cities and towns throughout the country. The VNEA is also active in 36 countries.


Most pool leagues use a handicap system, which allows players to compete against players of the same skill. Consider joining a pool team if you have a handicap. Depending on your league, you may have to pay additional fees to participate in tournaments and to play.

American Poolplayers Association is a pool league that was created in 1979. APA is now home to more than 250,000 players. While not all APA's leagues offer eight-ball, many are.
