Pool is a highly competitive game unlike most other billiards. It is very popular around the globe. In the USA, there are many variations of the game played, but the most popular varieties are the eight ball and the nine ball pool. The pool matches are played over multiple games with the winner being declared after a set number of frames. The winner usually gets 61 points. You can agree on handicaps for winning numbers that are different.

The primary objective of the game is for all balls to be pounded to be potted. Each ball pocketed is worth 1 point. Additional balls can be added to your score. Usually, a player wins if they pocket the eight ball first. A player who does not take the eight ball will lose the game. If the eight ball is pocketed during a foul, the other balls that were pocketed in the course of the foul are pocketed and are spotted. However, the foul doesn't count towards your points. Two fouls in succession are a violation of the rules and a player must be informed before their next shot.

The balls are grouped into three sets: solid balls, striped balls, and object balls. They are typically smaller than American style balls. They come in a variety colours, including dark violet for four and twelve balls. The object balls used to be all-red in the past. However, they are often multi-colored these days. They are made from a variety of materials, including wood, fibreglass, and carbon fibre. There are three most common sizes for ball diameters: 2+1/16", 2 inches and 3 inches.

The object of the game's black eight ball is to be able to take it. To do this, the player must place all of the balls in his pocket. He must also make sure all balls that have been pounded are found and placed in line with the foot rail. Then, the balls that have pocketed are placed back on the table, and the player who pocketed the eight ball is able to decide whether he wants to keep playing or if he wants to give his opponent a chance to continue the game.

A player can pocket a ball without fouling by placing it as close to the foot spot as possible, and calling the shot. If a foul is committed during the course of the shot, the other balls that were pocketed must be placed in direct line to the foot spot. The foul will not add to the points, but the player will receive a shot free of charge. The foul can be played with any ball.
