Ding Junhui, The Most Successful Asian Snooker Player In History

Ding Junhui, also known as Enter the Dragon, is one of the most successful snooker players in the world. He has won 14 major tournaments over his career. He also reached the finals of the World Championship twice. He is actually considered the greatest Asian player of all time.

Chinese pro-snooker player, Liu Zhiyuan, was introduced to the sport by his father, who was an avid snooker fan. He went to the Shanghai national snooker team as a child and has been a major success in the home country.

Ding became the youngest player to ever make a live televised 147 break in 2007 Ding also won the IBSF World Under-21 Championship that year. He won this title for the first time and was ranked nineth in the world at the conclusion of the 2006/07 season.

Ding won a total 14 major ranking titles throughout his career. He is also the three-time UK Champion. Ding has more than 500 century break records throughout his career, having started playing professionally when he was sixteen. Unfortunately, Ding's absences in recent times have had a detrimental impact on his match-sharpness. Ding, however, has a large following on social media in China.

Ding, then 18, reached the finals of the China Open. He was the first non-Irish player to win a ranking title. He also won his first all-Asian final against Marco Fu.

Ding has lost his position as the world's number one snooker players despite the success of his home nation. In the last six years, his career has been in decline. Currently, he is ranked ninth in the world. Since 2017, he has not been in a major ranking event.


The 34-year-old is a strong player. In total, he has won almost $5 million in major tournaments. He won five ranking tournament tournaments during the 2013-14 season and reached the semifinals at the Ladbrokes World Grand Prix. But he lost to Barry Hawkins and Shaun Murphy in the quarter-finals.

He has won ten matches this season and had ten century records. Ding has also reached semifinals of Ladbrokes Players Tour Championship. Therefore, it is probable that Ding will return to January's World Championship.

He has also managed to defeat the 16 world's top players. He defeated Joe Perry, Mark Williams, James Cahill, and Thepchaiya Un-Nooh. He also made seven centuries in semi-finals at the Shangai Masters.

When he was 18 years old, he won the Chinese National Championship and became the youngest player in the world to compile six maximum breaks. His ranking climbed seven places to rank him as the ninth-best snooker player worldwide.

Ding was still in the top 16 positions. However, Ding was eventually dropped from the top 16. Throughout his career, Ding has been a fixture in the Asian snooker scene.
