Dennis Taylor has won numerous prestigious trophies throughout his career. One of his best-known achievements was winning the 1985 World Snooker Championship. His final frame against Steve Davis, a record-breaking match, attracted over 18.5 million viewers on UK TV. It was one the most iconic matches in professional snooker's history. The match ended with Taylor beating Davis on the last black with 18 points.

Dennis Taylor was born on January 19, 1949 in Coalisland County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. At the age of nine, he began playing snooker. He was a great snooker player and went on to become a world champion. In 1967/68, he won the British Junior Billiards Championship. He was also involved in the 1973 World Snooker Championship. He made his professional appearance in 1972. He was the 1979 World Snooker Championship runner-up and won the invitational 1987 Masters. He retired from professional snooker in 2000. He is currently a member the BBC snooker commentary group.

During his career, Dennis Taylor has appeared on numerous shows. He has also appeared on numerous guest shows, such as the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing. He is also the BBC Sports Personality Award winner. He has earned a fortune after retiring from the professional circuit. His net worth was estimated to be at least $21.6million. Taylor spent much of his retirement years devoted to family and media appearances. He was also known as a jazz musician. He is also a very popular speaker at after-dinner.

The final frame ended in early hours of April 28th, at 12:23am. Everyone in Ireland was able watch the final frames. The BBC reported that the final frame was seen by all Irish viewers.

The 1985 World Snooker Championship was the longest single-day final in snooker history. Final frame lasted 68 minute. The finals were watched by 18 million people in the UK, making them the most-watched snooker event of all time.
