Steve Davis was a prominent force during the early days of snooker being a popular television sport. He became six-time world champion during his career and won several ranking event titles. At the age of 17, Steve Davis became a professional tennis player. He made his first appearance at a ranking tournament, the Pontin's Open. Tony Meo beat him. Davis won several titles in his first season of professional play, including three B&H Masters at Wembley.

His greatest achievement was however, being able stay in the top sixteen on his 50th. He was also a PTC player for many years, including the 2012 PTC Masters. He was one of three players to reach the PTC quarter-finals consecutively in a single season.
