Jimmy White is an internationally renowned snooker player. Jimmy was born in Balham (London) and has held 30 professional titles. His charismatic style and great natural talent are what make him unique. His success has seen him rise to the top in the sport in many different countries.

He was part of England's World Cup Team in 1988 and won the English Amateur Championships in 1979. Later, he won the World Doubles Championship together with Alex Higgins. This has given him a reputation as both a sportsman, and as a funny after-dinner speaker. He is also a passionate conservationist. As such, he has collaborated with award-winning documentary teams and is a keen animal lover.

Jimmy White's professional career began in the 1980s. By the time he was a teenager, he had reached the finals at the British Open and Masters. He was a highly successful player in his early career and remained within the top eight throughout his entire career. However, his fortunes began declining in the 1990s. While he could not replicate his past success, he has been able retain his spot in the main touring for another season.

Jimmy White made a name for himself as an underdog. He was a player of a high-spirited style and a relentless determination to succeed. His 1999 world semi final was his proudest moment.


In his first two qualifying matches he did not drop a frame. He lost in the deciding frames to Matthew Selt and Xiao Guodong in his first two qualifying matches. Despite the setbacks, he continued to enjoy some good performances throughout the year.

He won three matches at full ranking events in the 2014/15 season. His disappointing season ended with a loss to Barry Hawkins, in the International Championship. He finished eighth, just one place below the top 64.

Jimmy White, then just 15, became the youngest player ever to win the ranking event. He defeated Mark Selby, Stephen Hendry and David Morris during the tournament. He secured his spot in professional top 64 with his win.

Jimmy White is the star in the BBC2 documentary series Gods Of Snooker. He is a fan favorite and a familiar figure to snooker lovers around the globe. He divides his time between public speaking and snooker when he's not playing. He is frequently called upon to host high-profile corporate events as well as awards ceremonies.

Jimmy White made the most his opportunity in China, after having fought to be in the top 64. He qualified for the International Championship to ensure his place in the top 64 for another season. He became the second overall player with a maximum break at the tournament.
