
Joe Perry is a well-known player in snooker. British snooker players, Perry has spent many seasons at the bottom end of the sport. He has also spent a few seasons at the top of the game. He reached the Top 16 in 2002 for the first time. He has been out of the top 20 for three consecutive seasons.
Joe Perry has been called "The Fen Potter" and "The Gentleman". He is a Cambridgeshire native and became a professional in 1993. He has been a fulltime professional as of 2003. Ken, his older brother, is also a professional.
Perry has been a regular on the global stage, even though he has not won a major ranking event. Perry finished within the top eight provisional rankings in 2011, and won a minor ranking event in 2015. He competed with Ronnie O'Sullivan in a battle at the Masters.

Perry has been in the finals at both the UK Championship as well as the European Open. He reached the quarter-finals for the World Championship. He reached the semi-finals at the UK Championship in 2004, but lost to David Gray. He beat Judd Trump in the semi-finals, but lost to Stephen Hendry at the final.
Having begun his snooker career at the age of twelve, he began to make his name as a top professional in the early 1990s. He reached finals in the European Open 2001. In late spring 2001, he won the Welsh Open. He won the Welsh Open in late spring of that year. In 2014, he took part in Wuxi Classic.
In the same year, he defeated Matthew Stevens, Marco Fu, and Jamie Cope to reach the semi-finals in the World Championship. He was awarded his second ranking title. He was also involved in the Xuzhou Open and the Welsh Open later in the year. At the close of that season, his standings had fallen to a disappointing 14th.
Despite being defeated by Stephen Hendry and Graeme Dott, he managed to climb to the top half the world rankings. He has won the Welsh Open Masters, the Welsh Open Masters, and the Xuzhou Open on his way to the top. And he has also run courses to teach people how to play the game.

He has tried many times to beat Ronnie O'Sullivan throughout his career. He won a 9-5 victory in the first round of 2008 UK Championship. He was only one frame away from winning the 2017 Masters Finals, but lost to Ronnie O'Sullivan.
In the first round of the 2018 World Championship, he beat defending champion Mark Selby. He also won 2015's Xuzhou Open. He also has several courses and is a BBC guest commentator.
