The rules of dodgeball are simple and easy to learn. Protect yourself from headshots. A referee can also enforce these rules. These rules may be enforced by a referee. When a player has been eliminated, the game is over. This game is usually played in gyms and camps. While there are rules for competitive games, dodgeball can be played anywhere. It doesn't matter if you are lining up or drafting players, the process of selecting teams can be simple.

Players need to protect themselves against direct headshots

To prevent a player from getting a direct headshot, players must take evasive actions to block the shot. Direct headshot refers to when the ball directly hits a player's head without making any contact. The ball should not have touched anything in the vicinity of the player's head before it hits them. However, the ball may deflect off the players' bodies or hands. Also, the ball must not have touched anything before hitting a player's head. Any action that takes the player out of this position automatically negates the headshot.

Players in dodgeball must guard themselves against direct headshots. A dead ball is one that the ball hits the player's head directly. A player can take a headshot while standing straight. A player who is hit in the head while sitting upright will be ejected.

Dead balls

Dead balls are balls that are not thrown into play during a game. These balls are used to make sure that no player receives multiple hits from the exact same object. A small court with a centerline and two sideslines is used for dodgeball games. The game is primarily self refereed and governed under honour rules. Four referees are located at the middleline. The referees will start and end the game and confirm hits and count the time that players have possession of the ball. Each team begins with one ball. Place the two balls in the middle of the court. Each team has a five-second grace period before releasing a ball.

If a dodgeball is thrown by a team, it will be deemed "dead" if it crosses the boundary line. The player who steps on the boundary line of another team's team is out. You must ensure that your ball is kept in the same place for at least ten seconds.

Unsportsmanlike conduct

Every participant must follow certain rules when playing dodgeball. Participants must wear a shirt or shorts without any sharp metal parts, and they must not wear any jewelry during the game. The game is kept moving by a referee to ensure that all players are safe. The referee is also responsible for ruling on contested plays. Referees make final decisions that cannot be appealed. In the event that a player is caught violating the rules, they will be warned. Depending on severity, referees may issue technical fouls.

Participation in dangerous throwing behavior is grounds for disqualification. Referees will warn players who engage in dangerous throwing behavior and will turn the ball over to the other team. A dangerous throw is any throw that is high and near the head of an opposing player. The throwing player will be removed from the game for this offense and will not be allowed to play in any other matches for the remainder of the match.

Overtime rules

Dodgeball, a sport that involves players trying to catch a ball live before it touches ground, is one example. Players must stay within the court boundaries, and if a player steps outside of it, they are out of the game. Players are also out if they touch the ground across the center line, or if they attempt to kick the dodgeball. If there is a tie in the game, overtime can take place to determine the winner.

Each team may only retrieve 3 (3) balls to their left of the center hashi. The ball must be placed behind their line of attack before legal throwing. Teams have a time limit of three minutes for overtime. The winning team will have the most players.

Neutral zone

The neutral zone in dodgeball refers to the area around the centerline of the court. The neutral zone is an area where players may not be hit or stepped on. However, they can leave the area if necessary. You can attack your opponent from the neutral zone with a variety offensive and defensive tactics, but you must not get hit or touched.

Two teams of six are required to play the game. The balls on either side of the court are the teams's property. The team with the majority of the balls must relinquish it within 10 seconds. Both teams have two ball retrievers to collect off-court balls. For interfering in the ball collection or for stepping into neutral territory, ball retrievers can be sent off.
